The Rock Art of Alta, included on the World Heritage List in 1985, has been a source of inspiration and curiosity to researchers and the public alike, since its discovery in the 1970's. Archaeologist (and metal head) Martin Hykkerud is the former section manager and World Heritage Coordinator at the World Heritage Rock Art Center - Alta Museum, and has worked with documentation, conservation, and research regarding all aspec ts concerning this unique heritage. He is now working at University of Tromsø - The Arctic University of Norway.
